Welcome Early Arrivals! Let’s get this party started!

Come on in and meet your hosts! Get acquainted with new friends, connect with old friends, pick up event tickets and/or VIP passes, sign up for new events, check out our merchandise, or just relax and socialize!

7:30pm-11pm: Hang Loose Launch Party & Game Night!
Walk right in. Sit right down. Baby, let your hair hang down! This event will provide a perfect opportunity to get an early start on the weekend fun! Socialize with old friends and meet your new friends who you will be spending the weekend with on the Island of Love!  We’ll start off the night with an icebreaker game and them move on to some of your favorite games from the sixties! You’ll go ape when you see what we have in store for you and the other cool cats! Game Winners will receive valuable prizes! Food & Drink Specials offered all night, so come hungry and thirsty! Order off the menu and pay as you go.

You have arrived at the Island of Love., just in time for Freak Out Friday. It’s time to play, make new friends during the day and then find them on the dance floor at night!

If you’ve never been inside the iconic Casino, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to journey back to old Hollywood, big bands and extraordinary architecture and artistic design! Learn interesting facts about the early history of Avalon on the way!
The Catalina Casino, has been the focal point of Santa Catalina Island entertainment and culture since it opened over eighty years ago on May 29, 1929. For nearly three generations, the Catalina Casino has been the venue of choice for great entertainers, live theater productions, and first-run motion pictures. Dominating the Avalon landscape from its regal perch along the harbor, the Casino exemplifies the style and romance of Catalina Island. Restored to its original condition, the Art Deco, circular icon is a stunning reminder of Catalina’s glorious past.

Saturday, June 2

Welcome to Sock it to me Saturday! And we do intend to sock it to you! You have lots of choices today! We suggest you start the day off by teeing off! Join lots of fun-loving women for 18 holes of miniature golf for our 1st Annual Dinah-ish Golf Tournament! You can also spend the day exploring the island and all the fun and beauty it has to offer! Shop, relax by the pool or at the beach, or join others for one or more of our private island excursions! We have selected some of the most popular and exciting activities available and secured them as a private group charter!  If you see an island excursion or activity listed on our website, be assured this is private for our group! Have a far out day, but be sure to save some energy for the night time — Gourmet dinner under the stars followed by the incomparable comic, Karen Williams!

Time to tee off on our own private miniature golf course! Sign up with your own foursome or we’ll team you up!  We’ll start shotgun and play 18 holes. Anyone who gets a hole-in-one is an instant winner! Each member on the team with the lowest score will win a valuable goodie bag full of gifts including a certificate for a FREE pair of Skechers!

About the course: Nestled in an idyllic garden setting and less than one block from the beach, Catalina Island’s Golf Gardens is the ideal spot for an afternoon of innocent fun. This unique 18 hole course has been a much-loved fixture on the island for nearly 40 years. Golf Gardens is known in mini-golf circles as one of the world’s most beautiful and challenging courses. 12:40pm to 2:40pm Zip Line Eco Tour (Please check in 20 minutes early. Maximum 10 guests, only five spots remaining)
Propel down 5 separate zip lines dropping from 600 feet above sea level with one run that is 1,100 lineal feet long all on its own. The zip line holds a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor. This incredible experience will forever change your idea of what a tour should be. You will travel close to three quarters of a mile over five consecutive zip lines at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor at speeds up to 30 mph.
After shuttling to the top of the course, high in the hills near Avalon and descending through Descanso Canyon, you will pause at several eco-stations along the way before continuing on your journey. At each station, your hosts will give you a presentation on some of the unique and interesting aspects of Catalina Island, its wildlife, history, and the areas you are passing through. Eventually exiting at Descanso Beach your journey will last approximately two hours and your memories will last a lifetime.

A note from Andrea: I have personally zip lined in many countries and destinations, and I can honestly say, I was completely impressed with this experience! Truly one of the best zip lines I have encountered (excluding Costa Rica!). If you’re a thrill-seeker, don’t leave the island without seeing it from the skies on the zip lines!

What could be finer than exploring Catalina Island by kayak? Beginners will learn quickly, experienced paddlers will love our gear!
A fun, natural history paddling tour where you can imagine exploring the inaccessible coastline of the Catalina Island in a modern, easy to maneuver & stable sit-on-top kayak for two! Your instructor/guide will teach the basics of paddling and you’ll find how simple and fun kayaking on Catalina’s clear ocean waters can be. Once on the water, your guide will point out interesting and historical landmarks, birds & plants, discuss the island’s ancient to modern history, geology and ecology as you glide over nearshore kelp forests above colorful fishes. There’s always something WILD to see… a harbor seal may peek at you from the offshore rocks or  a bald eagle may snag a fish from the water nearby. 9:15pm to 10:30pm: LAUGH-IN starring Karen Williams!
Karen Williams has the unique distinction of being the nation’s first openly lesbian black comic to include specifically lesbian material in her act. Her solo comedy special “I Need a Snack” filmed live in Hollywood ~ and produced by Andrea Meyerson of StandOut Productions ~ is a LOGO TV favorite and available on DVD.

Karen Williams is a featured comic performer with Olivia Travel cruises and resorts for lesbians since 1990, logging over 200 cruises and resorts. Karen’s been a ghostwriter at Columbia Pictures, and her humor writings appear in numerous anthologies, including Joke Stew (Andrews McMeel Publishing), Revolutionary Laughter (Crossing Press), Out in All Directions (Warner Brothers), and Out, Loud & Laughing (Random House).
